Residential Life

One of the most rewarding and growing experiences of Hillsdale College is campus life, and in particular, residence life. The events taking place outside of the classroom are an integral part of the educational experience. Students living in a residence hall, College-owned house, or Greek house build friendships that last a lifetime, experience personal growth, and make memories that will be cherished for years to come. Thus, we are committed to providing an enriching living environment conducive to success in both social and academic arenas.

All students are expected to reside in campus housing during their four full-time years at Hillsdale College. Exemptions to this policy can be found in the Hillsdale College Catalog.

The partnership through which we pursue the excellences of character and intellect here at Hillsdale College is now 177 years old. This partnership is the foundation of all our work together and at the heart of our living communities. As such, it requires the goodwill of everyone involved. If and when you face a difficulty, of whatever sort, talk to us. There is almost always someone who can help or help you rise to meet the difficulty. If there are difficulties with social or living experiences, understand the College also desires to resolve them. We invite you to partner with us as we pursue excellence and grow in community with one another through the residence life experience.
